Maison & Objet 2026: excellence at the heart of contemporary design
From 15 to 19 January 2026, Maison & Objet is set to open an edition that affirms Paris’ role as the world capital of design more than ever before.
Under the theme ‘Past Reveals Future,’ the show celebrates the fertile dialogue between heritage, craftsmanship and innovation. Here, creation no longer looks only to the future: it draws on the past to better reinvent the home of tomorrow.
Across seven halls and six sectors, the event presents a comprehensive map of design: from craftsmanship of excellence to eco-responsible materials, from high-end furniture to futuristic hospitality. This diversity reveals the vitality of a rapidly changing industry, attentive as much to the poetry of the gesture as to technological and environmental challenges.
This edition highlights four major creative directions: metamorphosis, mutation, recomposed baroque and neo-folklore, analysed by the GOODMOODS design agency. They outline the main themes of a design in search of meaning, where upcycling becomes alchemy and materials dialogue with their roots.
The show also honours the ‘Designer of the Year 2026’, Harry Nuriev, a visionary figure who champions ‘transformism’, an approach based on the transformation of the existing. His immersive scenography promises to be one of the highlights of the show.
With the expansion of the CURATIO village, the arrival of Manufactures d’Excellence, a collective dedicated to sustainable design, and an enhanced focus on the outdoors, Maison & Objet is establishing itself as a living laboratory.
Through exhibitions, talks and the ‘IN THE CITY’ tour, creativity leaves the halls to infuse the whole of Paris.
More than just a trade fair, Maison & Objet 2026 is emerging as a major cultural platform, where ancestral know-how finds contemporary resonance and where the design of the coming decades is taking shape.
