Soulages, une autre lumière

From 17 September 2025 to 11 January 2026, the Musée du Luxembourg is presenting the exhibition Soulages, une autre lumière (Soulages, another light), devoted to his works on paper.

More than 130 pieces, including around thirty previously unseen works, reveal an intimate and often overlooked side of the artist. Soulages explores various materials—walnut stain, ink, gouache, charcoal—to create unique effects of light and transparency. These works are not sketches, but an autonomous visual language.
