Destination Chocolat: La Samaritaine’s new gourmet destination
La Samaritaine welcomes Destination Chocolat, a new space designed by pastry chef Nina Métayer. A gourmet and refined stopover, entirely dedicated to chocolate, offering visitors a special moment in the heart of the Parisian department store.
Destination Chocolat: a sensory journey to the heart of the department store
On the ground floor of La Samaritaine, Destination Chocolat welcomes visitors in a setting inspired by Art Nouveau, Art Deco and luxury trains. Designed by pastry chef Nina Métayer, this elegant space showcases a selection of chocolate bars, tablets and boxes created especially for the location.
Visitors are invited to take the time to discover the different creations, to give them as gifts or even to have them sent as a postcard, echoing the theme of travel.
Designed in the chef’s artisan chocolate factory, these delicacies reflect her expertise and attention to detail.

Nina Métayer: the signature of an internationally renowned pastry chef
A rising star in French pastry making, Nina Métayer has made a name for herself with her unique style, combining technical precision, artistic sensibility and a constant search for emotion.
With Destination Chocolat, she is setting up shop for the first time at La Samaritaine, a place whose spirit she embraces: that of a department store which, since its inception, has showcased the finest artisans of its time.
This location is designed as a natural extension of her world. By creating an artisan chocolate shop in La Rochelle, the chef is reinforcing her commitment to quality and her desire to be close to her customers.
Her gourmet creations, elegant and designed for travel, symbolise this desire to open up new horizons, far beyond her Parisian and La Rochelle roots.
Her arrival at La Samaritaine marks an important milestone: she offers not only an exclusive range of chocolates, but also an experience, where each product becomes an invitation to travel.
