The Plaza Athénée unveils new Haute Couture rooms

Inaugurated on 5 January 1875, this masterpiece designed by Charles Garnier opens to the public in a hushed atmosphere, starting in the entrance rotunda. The tour takes you up the majestic marble steps to the Grand Foyer, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.

A stop is a must in front of the mysterious box number 5, home to the famous Phantom of the Opera, born from the imagination of Gaston Leroux. Then comes the enchantment of the Italian-style auditorium, shaped like a horseshoe and overlooked by a ceiling designed by Marc Chagall. And for theatre lovers, emotions are guaranteed as you tread the boards where Maria Callas sang and Rudolf Nureyev danced.

A 1½-hour immersion in the heart of a living monument to art and entertainment!
