Georges de la Tour - Between shadow and light

Georges de La Tour, master of chiaroscuro, is renowned for his candlelit night scenes, combining everyday realism with spiritual depth.

His paintings, featuring saints, penitents and anonymous figures in intimate settings, reveal a style influenced by Caravaggio but deeply original.

Long forgotten, he is now considered one of the great French painters of the 17th century.
